Birr Pedestrian Footbridge

Description
A new pedestrian bridge was required over the Camcor River, in Birr Co Offaly, to eliminate the hazardous situation whereby pedestrians were required to walk alongside traffic at the intersection of Main Street and Moore Park Street. Kenny Civils & Plant Ltd were appointed as the main contractor and PSCS for this project.
The Works included:
* The fabrication and installation for a new pedestrian walkway bridge, namely a 26 meter spanning structural steel bridge.
*Construction of reinforced concrete foundations for the bridge.
*Associated storm water drainage.
*Post and rail fencing adjacent to the bridge
*Completion works including landscaping and reinstatement of footpaths
*Works in sensitive site and environment
*Working in a confined site in an urban environment
*Collaborating with third parties including local authorities, Gardai, National parks and wildlife services, Tidy Towns and Fisheries Ireland
